Wanted to clarify what I said in my earlier post when I said "I had no real complications with my surgeries". Actually, I had NO complications from my surgeries.

I did have a couple of inconveniences after surgery.

After both surgeries I had the jaw "tightness" that Lisa mentioned. Doesn't hurt most of the time, just when I tried to open my mouth too far (like yawning or trying to open wide to get some food in).

After my second surgery this last Jan, I had some bleeding in my ear canal. The canal was either nicked or torn during the surgery and it was uncomfortable for a couple of weeks. There was no damage to the important parts of the ear, just the ear canal. It's what I consider a inconvenience rather than a complication.

Also, I've had random (what Lisa called "episodes") or TIA's after both surgeries. Both times they were consistant with what I was having before surgery, so I don't think it had anything to do with the surgery.

I had random, small TIA's for several months after my first surgery, but haven't had any in over a year.

I had 5 small TIA's within the first two weeks after my second surgery, but haven't had any since Feb 1st.

Overall, the small inconveniences from my surgeries are well worth the benfit from them. There's no doubt, they saved my life.
