I will be seeing Dr. Steinberg in May and I plan on asking him more about MM being hereditary. I personally know of no one in my family (and I went pretty far back to check) that has had it before me but it does seem to be the case in a lot of people. I want children very badly but don't want to take the chance of passing this on unless I get some clear answers.

Does anyone know of anyone with Moya Moya having children that ended up with the disease too?

For those that are wondering if they may have inherited it, I would certainly get tested. Why not? It could be nothing and ease your fears or , at the very worst, actually be MM but you can be treated early before any damage is done. Make sure that you get at least an MRA as an MRI usually won't show anything. I went years undiagnosed because the proper tests were not being given.
