Sorry, I'm sure thats not what you wanted to hear from me, but I haven't heard of any specialists in Miami. Bad thing with Moyamoya is thats it's such a rare and new disease (at least in this country), theres not alot of specialists out there yet who have done many of the surgeries.
I haven't heard of the Dr. you mentioned but him having done ten of the surgeries is alot better than seeing a Dr. who's only heard of doing them. Of course, there isn't anyone better than Dr. Steinberg (in my opinion), but if the insurance won't pay for the trip across the country...
Have you asked Dr. Steinberg if he can recommend anyone in your area? I'm sure he would be able to point you in the right direction.
