My mom started having verdigo problems in '94. She was really sick for a little while, it was kinda hard on the family. She lost her hearing and balance for good. She had high blood pressure, and the doctor told her that she had a blocked artery in her kidney. So she had a kidney bypass and it went well. She then acquired and infection in the mesh they put in her stomache after surgery, which caused her to have 5 hernias, which she had removed. Then she started having mini strokes, and the doctor diagnosed her with moyamoya. He told her that there wasn't any cure for the disease but they had a hard time distinguishing what was wrong with her. They through out this moyamoya name and we had no clue and I really don't think the doctors did either. My mother died october 23, 1999. She was having valve replacement surgery done to her heart. I guess my question would be does this disease affect the heart or just the cerebral arteries.
