Thank you for the information. My doc did talk about the bypass surgery but I also had a medium-positive blood test result for an antibody that causes my blood to clot a little easier. He said this makes the bypass surgery a bit more risky for me. My doctor explained that the bypass surgery would just be "rerouting" (for lack of a better word) the blood flow while the burr hole type surgery would be increasing the routes for blood flow. Of course, he is not a surgeon and I have made plans to visit Boston and consult with Dr. Scott (I had e-mailed him yesterday and he e-mailed back almost right away explaining that he sees adults up to age 35). I plan on hearing what Dr. Scott has to say - and what everyone else has to say - and taking it all into consideration. Of course I will get as many opinions as will take me to make the right decision. Thanks again for your thoughts...I will certainly take it all into consideration!
