Title: Kristina
Post by Rhonda on Jun 28th, 2004 at 8:03am
Hi, y'all!!!!!

Kristina goes in this a.m. for her angiogram.  This is the start of her Stanford stay to fight back this disease.  Today and tomorrow are filled with medical appointments.  Wednesday is the big day; her first surgery with Dr. Steinberg.

Her and Jason have been "checking out" California for a couple of days before all of this starts.  She said it's really beautiful there; the trees are tall, people are very friendly.

Now it's time to take care of business.  I think she is ready to just get her surgeries over and go back home and continue on with her normal everyday life, minus the dizziness and TIAs that she has been getting lately.  My husband and I leave tomorrow a.m. to be with Kristina and Jason for first surgery and afterwards.  Then our little sister, Lorie, and her husband will be there for Kristina's second surgery next week.

I will keep everyone updated on her progress and success these coming two weeks.

Rhonda

Hey Rhonda,

I'm so glad you're going to be there for Kristina and Jason. You be careful and have a safe trip. Oh, by the way....hows Jasons hand/arm doing? You all have been through alot lately, and in my thoughts and prayers. God bless ya's! Give Kristina a big hug for me.[smiley=hug.gif] Thanks for the update.

God bless,
Mar

Rhonda---we are all praying for Kristina........as you know, Dr. Steinberg is an excellent neurosurgeon and she will be fine....I can empathize with her wanting to get her surgeries done and OVER WITH....I was the same way with my two surgeries.......I couldn't wait to get the 2nd one done so I had my doctor's secretary pencil me in even earlier than he said I should have the surgery (by about 2 weeks).....then, he had emergency surgery scheduled with 2 other neurosurgeons on the day of my surgery....so, I e-mailed him and told him "Don't you dare move back my surgery---move it up"  so he did---and I had to give away my Yankees tickets for June 3rd, but it was worth it to have the surgery moved up a day.......sorry this was so long.....keep us posted as you can....PatM

Mar, thank you for asking about Jason!!!!  Jason is being tough, I think.  He did have some pain on Friday while sightseeing in California, so he sought out a physical therapist, but the soonest he can get in is tomorrow, Tuesday, while Kristina meets with Dr. Steinberg.  Jason is going to see if possibly he can get a later appointment because Kristina really wants him there with her tomorrow.

Thank you, Mar, again, for asking about Jason.  He is so sweet to Kristina.  They are the perfect couple.

Rhonda

Rhonda,

Tell Jason I'm proud of him too and to hang in there. You guys are a team! What a wonderful family you have and you'll all get through this together.

Oh, one more thing... PLEASE Rhonda, try and get some pictures of all of you while you're together there at Stanford for our family picture page. ok? You have no idea how tickled it makes your mm family here. [smiley=winkkiss.gif]

Thank you!

Mar

Glad to hear Kristina is enjoying herself.  Sometimes it can be so overwhelming, you forget to take in what beauty is there.  We will be thinking of her these next few days.  Can't wait for good news.  Take care.

Hope the surgeries go well. It is good for her to enjoy herself and get out before her surgeries. It's good to kinda get away a little bit. Best wishes                    Nikki
