Title: Kristina update Post by Rhonda on Jul 7th, 2004 at 8:30pm
Hi.
Kristina was just wheeled in about 3:39 p.m. California time. Lorie, our "red-headed" sister, and her husband are there with Kristina and Jason for this second surgery. Lorie has Kristina's cell phone and her own cell phone for my updates this evening. This is going to be a long -- a very long night for all of us since surgery didn't start until later in the day. The first surgery we didn't hear anything until six and a half hours later. I had been waiting and waiting and watching my cell phone light up all morning just wishing for the "she's being wheeled in" call from Lorie. So... Since being back here in Texas, I have been trying to catch up with work. I have been so very busy. I feel like I have been neglectful at sending updates to everyone. There has just been boring updates, though, like: "Kristina and Jason went to Chili's twice for dinner." And, "Kristina and Jason watched '15 movies' yesterday they rented from Blockbuster." ((I know. Those are good updates, really)) She sounds really good on the phone. I wish so much I was there. I did not want to leave at all. Thank you all so very much for all the prayers and all the "good lucks" and all the concern for Kristina. If you only knew Kristina -- she is such a good, kind, and unselfish person. Oh, and SUPER organized. I will keep sending my updates. Promise. |

Anything yet Rhonda? Hopefully, she is resting comfortably in ICU right about now. I bet you all will be so relieved when this is all over and dear Kristina can go home!
Thinking about you Kristina and wishing you a speedy recovery! [smiley=hug.gif] Lisa |

Kristina did very well. No change in brain waves during surgery. That's what Lorie told me.
Will send another update as soon as I learn THE PASSWORD for ICU. I thought it was the same from last, but should've figured Stina would change it. They're all still sleeping up there, so... Will have laptop with Internet all day while writing, so will keep updating on my breaks. THANK YOU, Guys, SO VERY MUCH. It is just such a blessing what all has happened in our lives just over a little month ago. Wow!!!! |

Have not heard one thing -- again!!
I called ICU early this a.m., approximately four or five hours after Kristina's surgery. Nurse said she is okay and stable. That's all I know right now. I am anxiously awaiting a phone call from Lorie letting me know she has seen Kristina and she's okay. I want Lorie's words right now. Will have another update hopefully real soon. |

OKAY.
Spoke with Lorie. Kristina is A-OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yippy. I am sooooo glad she called me. It was right after last update I sent you-all. Jason said that Kristina looks better than last time. Is not asking for water, saying she's thirsty, which is good because last time she was beggging for something to drink. (Anesthesia-related aftereffect) Anway, you-all, she's good. Great. Lorie also indicated that she may even possibly be in a regular room tonight. Thank you, once again, Lord, for this news!!!!! |

Hello, everyone.
Another update on Kristina. She had some fast swelling happening yesterday, so they went ahead and ran an MRI. Other than that, she is doing exceptionally well. She will be getting transferred to her own room sometime today. Speaking good and walking good. Black eye is starting to show, but she/we already expected that. She will be in hospital, though, until Tuesday or Wednesday, which will be a whole week after surgery. First surgery was only three days. I don't know why she has to stay in there that long. I will ask Lorie next time she calls me with the next update. Jason had a two-hour physical therapy session yesterday and was really tired. But the good news is his cast has been changed the the mini "Cobra." You should've seen his first cast. It was big, red and looked like a Cobra striking at you. So we called it "the Cobe" while we were at the hospital. Entertainment for us while in that waiting room during surgery, and it just sorta stuck with us. Now he has the "mini Cobe." Well, will send another update. Everyone have a great weekend. |

Hello.
Just spoke with Jason, and Kristina is being released from the hospital today (Sunday) at about 3:00 p.m. YEA!!!! This is really great news because at first they planned on keeping her for almost a whole week. But since she is experiencing NO side effects now, they want her outta there! Kristina will be getting her staples removed on Wednesday, then her and Jason fly super early back home to San Antonio, Texas. Thank you all for your prayers and concerns for both Kristina and Jason. This is the best Web site ever!!!!!!!! |

That is great news because I had a lot of problems with my left side. Wish her good luck and let her know how happy I am when you talk to her. I will e-mail her also.
