Hi everybody! [smiley=wave.gif] Just wanted to let you all know that momma is doing great. They are even sending her home in two weeks. [smiley=thumb.gif] She is doing alot better with walking. Daddy stands in front of her and she walks slowly towards him to the bathroom and shower and stuff. She still has a good bit of trouble with word finding, but she has been in very high spirits for most of the time. She thinks it's pretty dang funny when she accidentally hits the "nurse call button" instead of the tv remote [smiley=slowlaugh.gif] She is also on a regular diet now instead of that mush crap, but she is being VERY picky about what she likes. The docs are completely amazed with her. We are having a slight problem though, my dad has been trying to get in touch with Teresa at stanford since they got her release date and he can't get past the receptionist. He has already been in touch with thier insurance and it looks like they are going to cover her trip to stanford, but the need a proceedure list. And we can't get it because we haven't been able to get in touch with Teresa. I e-mailed her the other day, so I guess if I haven't heard back from them mon. I will e-mail Dr. Stienburg. I am so anxious to get her there so we can be getting something done about this. Anyway, sorry this is so long. Just wanted to let yall know momma is doing really good. Nikki,i will see teresa on WEdnesday (or possibly sooner) and let her know you are needing her to contact you.  usually they do not work on the weekends. I am so glad that you are getting this taking care of!   ;) I am so amazed that this was not as hard as I thought.  Of course, I do realize it is not over yet.  I was telling my husband that I feel sheltered being in the hospital and totally embarassed while out on the streets.  If this is all I have to complain about, then thats easy enough.  You will be  so grateful to the caregivers here at Stanford.  Good luck to you guys and know that you are in my prayers.  Kristina  ;)

That is great news about your mom.  I am sure everything will fall into place.  I remember being on pins and needles until we got all of our okays.  Hang in there.  It WILL all work out.  I will keep you in my prayers.
