Hey everyone. My dad called and said they have momma back and have started her surgery. I gotta say, I am pretty on edge now. They estimated the surgery to last between 8 and10 hours. Oh yeah, and they are also going to do her other side next week because they found evidence that it had started progressing to the other side as well. I will keep you guys posted as I hear up-dates. good luck, and keep us in touch, my parrents were also nervouse when I was having the surgery.
Mine was 8 hours, but they did both sides at once, pitty your mom has to wait a week...

I happened to meet your family today, we were in the same waiting room and your dad heard the radiologist talking to me about Dr. Steinberg, so that struck up a conversation about why i was hear, and I mentioned about Holly and Moyamoya....so we talked for a bit after that before holly got done....

also had the pleasure of meeting with Chris's family as well.  Holly spotted them walking down the hall.....her comments...mom, mom, that boy has the same scared I do, go see if he has Moyamoya too....so i did, and sure enough it was chris's family

I hope your mom does well throughout her stay here...we  will definately have her in our prayers....

Hey Hillary!! That is so great!! I am so glad that my dad got to actually meet someone who was going through the same thing. I know you made him feel so much better just by being there and telling him that you and your family were dealing with the same thing, because I got to go see Michelle and Trey and I can't tell you how good that made me feel just being able to see and talk to another mm family. They ARE GREAT, aren't they? I am so proud of them and wouldn't trade them for the world!!!! [smiley=inlove.gif] Tell Holly I said good luck and we are thinking of her. Hey! I just talked to my dad and they have just finished mommas surgery and everything went very good. They are waking her up right now. They found two good vessels to use and have increased the blood flow to that side of her brain 500% of what she had. Thanks for all the prayers. We will need them agian next week when they do the other side(Tues or Wed) Will continue to keep yall posted. THANK YOU SO MUCH. You guys are great!!

YIPEE!!!  I am absolutely thrilled for your mom and your entire family.  Mind-boggling how just a few short (but nerve-wracking I know!) months ago you came here all full of questions and look how far your mom has come!  Now, you all just have to get through the second surgery and it's all good from there!

I hope all is going well.  I am so glad that your mom's first surgery went well and that they have decided to go ahead and do the other side.  I know that it is nerve racking to wait for the second surgery to be done, but at least you have done it once and the second time around (wait) wont be quiet as bad.  I will keep you guys in my prayers and will have Jason praying too.

Hi all! Momma is doing very well, but she has been in a VERY bad mood since she woke up after durgery. Dr. Stienbrg said it is probably from the meds she is on. She also has a black eye from the surgery, as we expected. Other than that all is well for the time. I will continue to keep yall posted on her progress. Thankx guys!!!        Nikki

Nikki---I am so very happy things are going well.  Kinda glad to hear she was in a bad mood.  Means she is still feisty and is willing to express her displeasure.
