Hey everyone. Just wanted to let you all know that mommas second surgery is tomorrow. We will be needing all the prayers we can get. She has been very upset and depressed since her first surgery, and had a siezure the day after. Have any of you had that experience? Dr. Stienberg said it wasn't uncommon and that it was probably due to the brain swelling after the trauma of surgery and that the "bad mood" was probably from the steroids she is getting to controle swelling. Since she had that seizure I am pretty nervous about this second surgery and worried about her being so down and depressed. I want her to be happy that we are taking the steps to get her over and passed all of this. I'm sure that will come with time and after she is able to get away from all of these docs and hospitals for a while. Anyway, please keep her in all of your prayers and I will keep you updated on the surgery tomorrow. Thanks guys.                                                               Nikki

Your mom will be in my thoughts all day tomorrow and I so hope that her spirits will be lifted very soon.  I'll be waiting for your update!

Nikki....you got our prayers.  Cara had at least two strokes after the first surgery...the first one shortly after the surgery...and the second one we think was at the airport on our way home to AZ from Rochester...so I was NERVOUS for her second surgery, too.  She had 5.5 weeks to recover from 1st surgery to the second (july 14th was the first,  the second was last Monday - August 23rd)...While Dr. Meyers said the surgery was identical for both sides, equally difficult with those tiny 1mm arteries that were tissue thin....she came out of this one very well.  Dr. Meyers said the first surgery..nothing was protected...so anything could happen...the second surgery the right side was protected while they did the left side...and I think the surgery on the left side is helping her right hand, leg and personality...she came home from Rochester this past Friday a more alive person...perky, happy.  Her Daddy and three brothers were amazed.  Her swelling was more on the side of her head this time..hidden behind her thick brown hair.  But I'm trying to keep her calm and low keyed while she heals.  Will say a long prayer for your mom...

Many, many prayers for your mom, you, and the rest of your family.  God WILL get you through this!  Dr. Steinberg is so awesome, too - we trust him with every ounce of trust we have.  Please keep us posted with your mom's progress.

         I'm sorry I wasn't here I was on vaca. for the week but I was thinking of you and your family and remembered it was your moms surgery. I'm so glad everything went well with the 1st and  know it will go great with the 2nd Dr. Steinberg and Co. are awesome. Your mom will come around she's just been through so much these past months once its all over and she's home she'll do much better. As usually we're praying for her and the rest of your family. Keep us posted.

Just wanted to let you guys know that they took momma in for surgery at about 6:00 Alabama time. They estimated the surgery to last between 3 to 5 hour. Still haven't heard anything yet, but will let all of you know as soon as I hear anything. Thank you so much for all of your prayers and we will continue to need them for a while yet. Hey. Sorry I haven't been here for a while. I was out of town for two weeks. Momma is doing good and they are scheduled to come home friday. I can't wait for her to get her theropy back under way. They haven't really been doing any over there. Thank you for all the prayers and we will continue to need them for a while yet. Oh Yea, and Mommas B-DAY is tomorrow!!! ;;D and mine is the 19th.
