Title: bad headaches! help!
Post by lisa on Sep 5th, 2004 at 8:28pm
hey guys!

i hope this finds everyone doing well.
i had my bypas on my left side a little over three weeks ago.  things have been going really well except that i have been having the worst headaches ever!  i have been running fever for the last 4 days.  i went to the er so they could run test and everything was great.  they saw no cause for the fever.  it goes down during the day and spikes to about 102 at night.  i feel fine except for the massive headache next to my incission and behind my left eye.

has anyone had this problem or anything like it?  i have tried really strong pain killers and none of them are working.  they bring the fever down but the pain stays.  i see my doctor on tues day, but until then i just dont know what to do.  if anyone knows or has heard anything like this please let me know!

thanks
lisa

Not sure this will help but my son (almost 15) but does not have MM..his little sister Cara does...but he just went through this week terrible headache (advil would not take away the pain either), high temp 102 to 103..but able to get back to normal on advil but spiked back up just like u said and he put ice bag on his head ...terrible headache...and developed terrible case of HIVES around ankles, back of arms...and still went to football practice !!!!   His doctor put him on steriods (predinsone)...several possible choices...may be mono, may have valley fever...had a blood test last thursday...I called on Friday to see what the result was but no one called back....so got to wait til Tuesday to see if blood test says something.....however the steriods has helped...no more temp, no more headaches and hives have dried up.  I'm sure you have some kind of virus....to have a temp like that.    When I had my cochlear implant...I had the flu and it seemed it affected my head near my incision , too...maybe it is the sensitive part that feels it much more !!!  I'll pray that your pain goes away soon...hugs,  carasMOM
