It is quite strange that you have asked this question!! Just today,,,, our hopsice nurse tried to get her family doctor to prescribe that. But for some reason,,, he said " absoutly NOT". I don't know why yet,,, but will call Monday to see if I can get an answer. We were hoping she could try it for pain in her back,, as we are fairly sure it is nerve pain. And it is very severe.. So I will be curious to see what answers you get. MJS

My daughter's neurologist recommended Neurontin for Daphne's headaches/ fussiness today. I remembered seeing your post, and was wondering if you'd read anymore about this med.

Jessica used Neurontin for a couple of years, mostly for pain control. There was a period a few years ago where she was in severe pain most of the time, and we tried lots of different regimens. The good thing about Neurontin, I was told by several neurologists at my hospital, is that it is a safe drug to give, without a lot of side effects, and you can increase the dose safely without it becoming toxic. It also has anti-seizure properties, which was a plus. It did seem to help some with the pain, although she eventually ended up needing something stronger. I wouldn't worry about trying it, especially if it works. ...Jennette
