Title: Home from the hospital today Post by Shanna on May 24th, 2005 at 11:14pm
hi everyone!
today i got home from the hospital. i had a sucessful surgery- right side bypass- used an artery in my wrist- so thats kind of hurting too. head hurts too... when does the hurting stop? ive had 2 episodes where my face goes numb, doctors dont seem worried....in 3 weeks i will go back to talk with my neurosurgeon about my left side bypass.... just happy to be home in my own bed....without people passing by staring at me every minute! although that mechanical hospital bed is pretty nifty.... thanks for all the support! cant wait to be past ALL of this. Shanna :) |

Glad to hear you're home and doing well. Tyler didn't complain about pain after he left the hospital, but he had severe migrains for months before his surgery, so the pain might not have been too bad to him in comparison.
I will keep you in my prayers for your second surgery, Rena |

Shanna,
Thank you for the good news! It is really nice you could go back home, which must be so comfortable now. My son, Kota, was also very happy when he came back home after the surgery. I understand how you feel when being stared at. I am hoping your hurting will be gone soon and the next suegery will be successful, too. Best wishes, Cotadad |

Shanna,
I am glad you are home and making a recovery from your surgery! I haven't had the surgery myself, but I do remember that my daughter (whose 19 months old and non-verbal) seemed to have a lot of head pain after her second bypass surgery. I was told that it is very common. Where did you go for your surgery? Jenny |

:o :o Hi Shanna ::) ::)
You just got home from the hospital....you must be doing great.....you might as well forget about the "hurting"...and put on a smile ;;D...remember you had brain surgery and that takes time....but unfortunately I cannot predict how much recovery time you will need....varies too much from one person to another....there may even be periods of feeling great for a while then some down periods. Cara's surgeries were July and August...almost a year ago...wasn't til November before she could go back to school, had TOO many little TIA's. But she was pain free from day one though...maybe head aches....but pretty much no pain. In no time you'll feel better....keeping you in my prayers...til you're 100% again. CarasMOM |
