Title: Bike.... Post by mg12061 on Jul 1st, 2005 at 5:47pm
Guess what Kathleen got today?!?!?? A new adaptive bike!!! We've been trying to find one we could afford for months now. They're priced anywhere from $1500 to $3000.I found someone who had a used one. They wanted nothing or it, their son had outgrown it. It's a Rifton Adaptive Tricycle Bright red! She loves it and what great therapy without even knowing your "working" Between the bike and swimming she should be ready for a 5k run by the time school starts again don't you think. We've been telling ehr should would be able to ride a bike again for the past 3 yrs and we kept trying them at Toys R Us and they just didn't work for her.I so happy she can finally ride again.

;;D ;;D Awesome Kathleen ;;D ;;D...I need to look it up to see what they are like. Cara still can't ride without training wheels..little uncoordinated...with the TIA's still coming. At swimming lessons she has the worst time with back strokes can't keep arms straight and go back one at a time...they both go together. I keep telling her it will come in time. :) How exciting for her to be riding that red bike. .... she'll be in a great shape by the time school starts again. warm hugs, carasMOM

Hi Mary Grace,
Thats interesting about an adaptive Bike, my little girl Lydia has lost heart with trying to ride her bike (with stabalisers of course !) as she cannot grip the left handle bar and also has no sense of balence so keeps crashing into things. I wonder what type of adaptive bike is being talked about here?would be great to try and sort something out for Lydia as she needs excercise to offest the affect of her meds which is weight gaining |
