Title: May I suggest a prayer night?
Post by tomg on Nov 20th, 2005 at 8:34pm
With the holiday season upon us,  I'm sure that you've noticed a couple of sad postings in our guest book.
First we were told of Ann's Passing and now a very sad posting by David about the passing of his wife sandi.
I don't know about you but those postings although important, have made me feel very mortal.
Let's face it probably 90% of the postings on this wonderful site are positive and good news but I guess that when dealing with an S.O.B. disease like moyamoya and now with close to 600 members on this site, sad postings are inevidable.
Therefore if I may and if you're open to it, I would like to suggest a night when all of us would pray at the same time for everyone on this site and for our receintly passed friends and for better advances in the cure of this disease.
I know that we all come from different religious backgrounds so say what ever prayers you usually say to whom ever you pray to.
Do you think that it's possible to have MM or a child with MM and not be religious at all?  I couldn't imagine that.
So I am suggesting a powerful 1/2 hour  of intense prayer Friday night (the day after thanksgiving at 8:00pm.EST (adjust to your own time zone).
Group prayers can be very powerful so let's do it.

Please let me know what you think or feel free to suggest another day and time it's fine with me.

Take care, God bless,  Love you all.  Tom G

I agree with you.  Prayer is powerful and group prayer is more powerful.  I'd like to join you on Friday night at 8:00.  One question:  which time zone are you in?  I'm on the East coast.  Thanks.

Take care and thanks again.     Tom G

Tom, I think it's a wonderful idea.I pray every night.I also believe there is a tremendous power of group prayer. We had so many family ,friends, and even strangers praying for Kathleen, and still do.I don't know what I would do if I didn't have some faith. It gets me through some very difficult times and also it's what gives me hope for Kahtleen's future. It helps me to not feel alone in this journey.I think it will be a wonderful feeling to know that there will be others praying for our families all at the same time. Thanks for the suggestion and any night and time is great.

Hi Tom G -

I think your evening prayer at 8pm Friday (7pm for me) is a terrific idea !!  I do believe in the power of collective prayer - that is what helped our family through Kate's mm diagnosis, surgery and recovery - and I am truly thankful this year for so many things - a "healthy" daughter, new and wonderful friends met because of her mm, etc.  Lets go for it !!  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Tom,

Your request for community prayer Friday at 8:00 PM is a terrific idea. Prayer is powerful.

It is a documented fact that community prayer services have worked miracles, especially in healing the sick.

"And I tell you more: whenever two of you on earth agree about anything you pray for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven." Matthew 18:19

God Bless,

Lore

I love this idea and will definitely join in along with my brother.  Prayer is very powerful!  My brother and I can surely attest to that!

Hi Tom,

Yes, hearing about Ann's and Sandi's passings have been very emotional.  Ann's passing really was hard for me as I really got to know her through this wonderful site.  I too believe in prayers...especially prayers in numbers.  Please include me on Friday.  As you know, I am in the Pacific time zone...

Great idea, Tom.  I hope all is well with you and your recovery...

Take care,
Shan

Hi Tom,

I'll join everyone in prayer at 3:00 p.m. (HST)  I think it's a great idea.  It doesn't matter what race or religion.  MM can strike anyone.  It doesn't pick favorites.  I'll definitely join the prayer session.

Aloha, [smiley=hug.gif]
Jan

P.S.  Happy Thanksgiving!!

Count me in!!  We pray every night and include all of our military men and women and their families that are praying for their safe return..maybe we could add them also?  I think that a group prayer is a wonderful idea!
God Bless You [smiley=hug.gif]
