You may get a glimpse of Kathleen her Dad and her brother Patrick.ESPN has put together a segment to air on Super Bowl Sunday pre game.It's about our Challenger Flag football team.This is a team of children with dissabilities.Kathleen plays on the team,my husband coaches and Patrick helps her navigate the field, and of course I cheer them on with great pride!They  will air a 5 minute segment on the super bowl channel pregame show and a 15 minute segment pregame on ESPN.I wish I had a more exact time,I hoping we may before tomorrwo.Later this year in the fall they will be putting together an hour long documentary on our team.Ours is the first Pop Warner Challenger Flag football team in the nation.Our hope is that others will follow and get children with dissabilities out on the field playing football.Kathleen spent her life watching her big brother play,she played all the time with him on our front lawn and now she's in the spotlight playing her own game.It doesn't matter that she need helps in fact she loves having Patrick out there with her.I'm just as proud of Patrick for giving up his sleep on Saturday mornings to help her play as I am of her actually playing.She's so happy out there running around with the other kids.So if your watching any pregame stuff and you hear them announce the East Greenbush Pop Warner  Challneger league sit back and keep your eyes open for the cutest little football player you ever saw.She's always on the arm of her brother and she always has a pony tail or pig tails, her # is 23.

***There will also be a smaller segment on the Super Bowl channel at about 4:20****

Thanks so much for sharing this with us. I'm so tickled, I can't wait!! I'll definately be watching for her. Pop Warner is such a wonderful program for kids. Hopefully she and the others will inspire other teams or even leagues accross the nation. What a precious event. I'm looking forward to seeing Patrick and Kathleen on Super Bowl Sunday.

Just saw Kathleen on ESPN and was watching with tears in my eyes.  What an amazing person she is !!!  That feature on ESPN was so inspiring.  I know you are so proud of her.  She is such a beautiful girl.  Thanks for sharing with all us so were able to watch it.  I taped it so I could show my brother when he gets home.

Oh my gosh Mary Grace, I loved it!! Your Katheen is everything you said she was... how precious and beautiful!! I loved the segmant, but it's hard for me to see the keyboard now, from crying. It touched me so!! What a wonderful thing for them to experience! Kathleen, Jake, alyssa, and Kenzie (all of em) are an inspiration, and brought such a smile to my heart that can't be replaced. Thank you soooooo much for sharing that with us. It made my day!!

Please let us know when the other program will air. I'm looking forward to seeing that one as well.

I wasn't sure I'd be able to see it as I had to go out, but finagled enough with my new DVD recorder to actually tape it!!  (Lucky me, because to be safe, I taped two hours and they did a segment on my beloved Chicago Bears' Super Bowl anniversary!!).  

In any case, I saw the segment, and was totally in tears!  What inspirations!  And Kathleen is totally a cutie!

 Thanks everyone....I'm hoping that they will get the video on our local Pop Warner web site soon.I've watched the tape of it aobut 3 times now and cry everytime.the segment on the super bowl channle was cut in half so there wasn't as much of Kathleen so I'm glad I taped the ESPN one.She was so excited to see herself and her dad and brother on TV.I plan to bring the tape into school and hopefull they can play it for all the kids maybe in Gym class.It's such an important thing for typical kids to see chidlren with dissabilities doing "normal" stuff and seeing how much they strugle to just feel a little bit "normal" for a small part of theri lives.Thanks again you guys for watching.Kathleen is such a  HERO to me!!! I'm bustin with pride! She's made it so far in her short life and never fails to smile every single day.

                   I wasn't on the site and I missed it didn't even know it was going on, ironically enough my husband was upstairs and I was down stairs doing different stuff and he said did you see the challenger kids I was so mad I missed because my other son with the heart disease played in a baseball challenger league (When ha passed away they named the field after him) and was in the special olympicsalso. All of that stuff is so dear to my heart I am so furious that I missed it especially with Kathleen in it darn, darn, darn. Is there anyway I can see it? I am not computer savy at all so I don't know if thats possible but if theres anyway please let me know. Tell Kathleen I am so proud of her I'm sure she is just as precious as she can be. Who ever created those leagues is a wonder and brilliant person...those kids deserve a chance at sports and fun just like evryone else. I'm so proud as if she was mine, thanks for the post you made my week.

I taped it if ya want to see it. I have the ESPN airing of it. They cut alot out on the ABC Super Bowl channel airing of it, so I have the best one, I think for you to see. It was the most precious experience. You'll love it.

So, why don't you come home to see it???..lol.. Just kidding, I'll mail it to ya sweet stuff.
