Title: Has anyone noticed??? Post by Jan on Feb 16th, 2006 at 1:18am
I know it's a rather dumb question, but....? Has anyone noticed or observed if they have been in and out of the hospital/clinic more since being diagnosed with Moya Moya? I've been in the emergency room so often that the emergency room personnel know me by name or if the don't, they ask didn't I see you in here recently? [smiley=bag.gif]
It seems that I'm a hypochondriac, I go into see the doctor for every little thing now. I have a hard time even treating a cold. My doctor doesn't want to prescribe any medicines that will raise my blood pressure so only thing I take is tylenol. No OTC medications. I've been really lucky that every time that I have to go in for something I just call my PCP and he will always make a slot for me or take me stand-by. If I go to the walk-in clinic they will send me straight to the emergency room because they don't know treat this condition. He has been my PCP for the past 10 - 12 years. My sister used to be his receptionist/medical assistant before she moved to Maryland. Has anyone taken anything to relieve cold symptoms? If so, please let me know... Thank you, Jan |

Aloha Jan,
Prior to me being properly diagnosed (by my third opinion) I was in and out of the ER. They always did a CT scan and then sent me home. I think they began to think that I was a hypocondriac and was having panic attacks. I believe this was due to their lack of knowlege of MM because come to find out, I was actually having TIA's. Sad part is that I myself did not know I had MM. Does the ER know what MM is? Is this at Wilcox Memorial? As for colds...thanks to this wonderful site, I found out about Corricidin HBP. (Thanks Nancy) I read about it in a previous thread.... It doesn't raise my blood pressure. You may want to look through old threads (I believe there's one specifically on colds. If I see it, I'll bump it up for ya'.) Hope you're feeling better, Jan. Take care... Me Ke Aloha Pumehana, Shan p.s. I'm actually glad that you're getting "special" treatment...in otherwords, sounds like they are being extra cautious with you because of your condition. |

Jan,
Mandy did take Coricidan HBP and did fine and has just started it now again for allergies she takes the cold and cough one it works for her allergys she sneezes all morning and her nose runs like a spicket and this stops it. To my knowledge this is the only thing that does not restrict the vessels. Hope this helps. Nancy |
