Hello everyone,

My wife, Kathie, has recently got an infection on her left incision.  She has a brownish red thick fluid coming out at the top of her incision.  She had her surgery on that side Jan. 17th of this year.  Has this happened to anyone else out there???

By the way,  we did see our doctor and she has had a CT scan (which has been sent to Dr. Steinberg), an ati-biotic shot (which our doctor said was a mother load of a shot), she is on 1000mg of Augmintin per day, and we had a culture done today on the fluid.  We are in contact with Teresa and they know all about it.  (Don't freak out Jill. I'm just wandering if anyone else had an infection and drainage after a month and a half??????

Well, I did have something similar. My mom attacked it with antibiotics. I had red spots all over my head and all around the incision spot. I was allergic to something. The doctors gave me cortisome for it. My incision was leacking blood alittle at a time and the top part of my incision was infected alittle because it got wet from washing my hair by accident.

I am sorry that Kathie has the infection and hope it is just at the skin level and is already under control. It is kind of warning for us, so thank you for the post. Jill and I were talking about Kathie the other day and I am glad to know Kathie's engery level is getting better, even started workout.

Hope you have heard from Standford and thing is OK.

   Hello Katjim, I am not trying to alarm you. But my wife had a staph. infection after her second sugery @ the incision. After six weeks of Vancomycin I.V.s she fully recovered. Brenda, Amy, and I wish you the best. We hope to see you in Orlando.
