Title: OK to have a baby!!!
Post by emma on May 26th, 2006 at 7:57pm
Hi All,

I saw a high risk Preg OB and he gave me the OK to have amother baby.........hoorah!!!!
He said that it would be risky but the thinks the risk to the brain would be minimal and that high blood pressure and diabetes would be more of a problem.
He did say the 300mg Asprin that i'm taking would be toxic to the baby, so i will have to take a lower dose of Asprin but every thing else I'm taking is fine. He  also said that I will have to have the baby at 35 weeks, as Preg puts a lot of stress on the boby so why risk a term baby.

I am so excited but at the same time very very nervous, but i'm hoping everthing will go smoothly,

Thank for all the advice that everone has given me to make this very important decision,

Hugs and kisses,
Emma [smiley=laugh.gif]

Hi Em
Told you it would be ok!! That is great news. If your specialists are anything like mine were when I was having Chad, they will monitor your every move and consult with EVERYONE!!!
I had Chad at 38 weeks and it is fantastic to be able to choose the day and time that you get to have your baby, and having a caesarean is so much better than a normal birth! Don't worry about anything - just relax and enjoy the lead up to the birth when it happens. The only thing I would advise now is talk to your specialists about anaesthetic when it comes to the birth, as I know that they have to use different anaesthesia on us. I actually asked the anaesthetist who did both my STA-MCA's if he would come along for Chad's birth. He was thrilled to and just had to apply to the hospital I had chosen, as he was not on the register there, and he got special permission to be able to perform there and it was fantastic!
I am sure you will keep us posted - I am sure Amy will love having a little brother or sister before too long
Hugs

Hi Moria,

I'm so excited. My Neuro said the Anasthetic would not be any different  and there was nothing to worry about!!!  He has seen quite a few MM patients over time, maybe i will ask my Ob about it...he happens to have worked with my Neurosurgeon a few years back and he know quite a bit about the brain....better bouble check that!
I had a Caesarean with Amy so it should be fine.....although I have never experienced lobor...but something tells me I'm not missing out on anything..

What will you be doing??

What's the news re: next surgery?  Do you know what type of surgery they will do yet?

Yes i wonder what John will say.....he might say go for it or say to wait till your surgeries are over.

Good Luck

well it'll be similar to the inspection stuff i used to do, but more so helping run projects... there's heaps of work to do so whatever i deem most suitable really! tis good cause my 'boss' knows me well and knows the situation so will be really understanding.

no idea about next surgery, wont be discussing it until late july/aug.

i need to have a proper talk to john anyway, about my lack of employment and sort lack of intention to stay in melbourne long term...
should done it earlier but will have to this time.

Congrats on the news from your doc.  It is great to hear that I may be able to have a baby post-op.  Just a quick question: Have you ever had any seizures?
Thanks,
Stephanie

Congrats on the good news that you can have a baby!

Regarding the anisthetic (sp?) - there is a difference so you may want to just check and be sure.  There are anesthetics that use epinephrine and those that dont.  Epinephrine can cause blood vessels to constrict - so you want to stay away from that.  There are, of course, other anesthetics without epinephrine - so just double check with your doc.  Good luck with your pregnancy!
