Title: mri "normal"
Post by jan123 on Jun 5th, 2006 at 10:43am
Can you still have no blood flow in certain sections of the brain and the mri shows no change from the last time? Are has this happened to anyone else? My mri shows the left internal cartoid artery 100percent blocked and the right intenal badly diseased. I have had two direct bypasses and one indirect done in 2004.

Jan,
MRI & MRA are not 100% reliable tests for MM evaluation.  In fact, they can be totally misleading.  CT angiogram is somewhat better, but still not 100%.  To be absolutely sure, you need a regular angiogram.  Most MM specialists want to have angiograms done at their facilities.
Best,
Roni
