Title: Symptoms before stroke? Post by Janni on Jul 23rd, 2006 at 5:30pm
I have not had a stroke. My symptoms is headache that sometimes get worse with physical activities, nausea, fatigue, dizziness and pain in the muscles with fatigue.
I just wonder if someone else is having this symptoms, and will they go away after surgery. Janni |

Janni -
I still cope with headaches and fatigue after surgery. But everyone is different so I can't say that it definitely will or will not go away after surgery. My suggestion? Take it easy - listen to your body. Good luck! -Shari |

hi Janni,
I have just recently been dx'd and have not had surgery yet. My symptoms are like yours...all of the above and with a lot of paratheses...deep pinching sensations anywhere on my body, muscle fasiculations 24/7 anywhere on my body, sometimes a feeling of something crawling on my skin, tingly patches or burning patches, muscle weakness that comes and goes (retrospectively probably tia's) visual auras that come and go, my fingers, hands and arms go numb. This happens a lot during sleeping and can be both hands. I figure my oxygen sats are lower while sleeping and I have some apneas going on also. It is not positional because I will change position and 10 minutes later it is right back. It can happen during the day but it is mostly a cronic nightime phenomenon. Anything sound familiar? It seems moyamoya is very individual and taylored personally. We are special : ) warm wishes to you.....diane |

in response to the above. I had all of those terribly bad symptoms before surgery. I'm still dealing with them only a few months afterwards. Summertime weather doesn't help. and the "we are special" part... well, I guess it's true. Everyone seems to have similar, but very different symptoms... Good luck

Janni,
as A Emergency Medical Techicain, I have been taught to treat the symptoms not the problem.......although in my sons case as I explained the symtoms it got dumb looks from doctors. (as if I was the dumb one).........But the warnings signs of stroke is severe headache with a rapid onset, difficulty saying what you are thinking,in the middle of a spell say this out loud "the sky is blue in (insert your home town)" tingleing in your extremeties" balance problems all of these are early signs of stroke along with vision problems another test is during a spell look in a mirror and smile look for both sides of your lips to curl up. Best of Luck, Mike P.S. any of the above could in fact be a mini stroke which could be either a indicator of a bigger stroke to come, or a residual effect from the pre operative stage of MM |
