Title: Jennifer's home from Stanford
Post by Jennifer_Rose on Sep 3rd, 2006 at 10:55pm
We're home!  Jennifer's surgery was successful. Dr. Steinberg said he found a good blood vessel to use.  The REALLY good news was that he only had to 'fix" the right side. The left side is 100% clear.  Of course I hope it remains that way, but it sure was nice only having to go through one surgery.  Jennifer did amazing. She was up walking the next day.  It took about 5 days for the swelling and redness to go away. The nurses and staff were wonderful.  They treated Jennifer so well.  Knowing that she was in such great hands made it so much easier. Jill and Tara came to visit a few times.  Their support was so much appreciated.

A friend of mine surprised us and made a website for Jennifer. Since I can't figure out how to put pictures on here (I'm not that computer smart!!) You can look at her pictures on www.myjenniferrose.com

Thanks so much for your support.

Michelle and Jennifer (2)

[smiley=sayyes.gif] Fantastic news! Our prayers were answered once again. I saw her pics Michelle, and she is everything you said and more! Her smile must light up a room. She is absolutely precious and a real trooper to go through all that.

[smiley=bow.gif]Dr. Steinberg and staff are truly amazing.

Thanks for the update. Please keep us posted and give Jennifer a big hug for me. [smiley=hug.gif]

My continued thoughts and prayers…

Mar

Hi Michelle!

"Wait a minute!" (you know the voice I'm using - like the one you guys use with Jennifer).  You forgot to mention Fred in your sign-off!

I so enjoyed meeting the 3 of you.  Mar, you're right - Jennifer's smile (not to mention her voice) truly does light up a room.  It was hard when her good eye swelled shut for a short time and she couldn't see things very well.  I'd hear her ask "What's mommy doing?" or "What's daddy doing?" . . . so cute!  It's difficult to watch a child go through surgery, but they are such troopers!  And now that she's "fixed", you won't be so worried about the risk of stroke.

I'm glad to know that all is well back at home, and sure can't wait to see you when you return for Jennifer's follow-ups!  See you in a few months!

Big hugs,
Jill

Hello Michelle, Fred, and Jennifer-Rose,

I wish we were able to spend more time together.  You have a beautiful daughter that you get to spend the rest of your lives with.  Cherish that.  Your lives will get back in order real soon if it hasn't already.  We are very happy for you guys.  Wasn't Stanford awesome??  Isn't Dr. Steinberg "The Man?" [smiley=headbanger.gif]  Doesn't it feel great when prayers are answered?  I know it feels good when you look up in the sky and say, "Thank you!!"

We need to find a way to get together and have those beers and Margaritas. [smiley=beer.gif]

Oh yeah, here's to moya moya disease... [smiley=bigtiny.gif]

God Bless,

Jim, Kathie, Mallorie, Meghan, and Kylah

[smiley=crackup.gif] Jim, you crack me up!  We MUST find a way to get together and DRINK.  We need to celebrate Kathie and Jennifer!!   Stanford was the best decision we could've made.  Dr. Steinberg and the nurses were awesome.

Again, we can't thank everyone enough for your support.

Michelle, Fred, Michael, and Jennifer  (Jill, I did it right this time!)

glad she is doing well.....I was there in spirit, but your daughter was in the Pediatric side of things.

Their was a little 5yr old girl having MM surgery just before me..during my 2nd surgery. I think I was more concerned with her than with me. She too, did very well.

Keep on the smooth recovery path...hugs Diane
