Title: Left side hurts. Post by hell_bytch_1 on Oct 17th, 2006 at 6:43pm
My left side where Dr. Ogilvy did the surgery hurts. Its not like the pain from having a headache but its the type of pain that only morphine can take care of..I have tried calling his office and all i get is his answering service. But i keep smiling and laughing which helps.
Since my surgery back in Jan i have started now taking tegratol for seizures, also i have had a total of 11 strokes. And also dealing with the news from my Lung doctor saying that i can't have anymore surgeries because of the damage that was done too my lungs during and after the surgery..So now i guess i will roll the dice once more and play with "Lady Luck"once again. Some days i feel like giving up but then again i have 2 beautiful boys and planning my wedding for May 16,2007 and i can't give up. I just keep making jokes and keep laughing that helps alot. If anyone has any ideas of what this pain is caused from any help will be good..On a pain scale some days its a 7 but the other days its a 10. I'm sorry that Chad and i couldn't be there in Orlando..i really wanted too go Thank you, Laura |

Oh, I am so sorry to hear that you are suffering with pain. I don't have any thoughts, other than please continue to seek an appointment with your doctor asap.
If you cannot reach him.....show up at your hospital emergency room for medical attention. I would be worried that something is amiss with your graft. But let the professionals check it out. I sure hope you get answers soon.......but do keep on laughing....it beats crying! warm wishes....Diane : ) |

Diane,
Well, I thought about going to the ER,however the Dr's in Maine have no idea what Moyamoya is let alone on how too pronounce it [smiley=laugh.gif]. Thats why I got shipped too Boston last year too begin with because they had no idea what was causing my strokes especially the 30 hour stroke that put me in the hospital. I mention that i have MoyaMoya and they say "Maui maui..HUH??" LOL..But i will keep trying too get a hold of Ogilvy I have a Dr's appt with my PCP in friday, and what he has learned about this disease is what i have taught him and what he has read. lol Maybe i should start charging a fee for everytime that i have to tell another doctor about this disease [smiley=laugh.gif]..But thanks Diane for ur warm wishes and ur right laughing does beat crying!!! Thanks, Laura |

Hi Laura, sorry that you in pain, I been there too, what I did is show up at ER, and then explain what MM is and order them to do CT or MRI, they don't know much about MM but they can tell us if some thing wrong when they look @ scan. In my case I told ER doctor to call my neurologist or call my surgeon and give them those phone number, it work for me every time ;).I hope it help, and hope you feel better [smiley=hug.gif].

Is it the pain where your head feels so tight or hurts so bad you feel like you can't breathe? I know how you feel. I haven't had the chance to get help, but sometimes it's so terrible that I want to blackout. Please get help and get your questions answered. I hope you have better luck than I. Most doctors/surgeons most likely want to help. Sometimes not, I think got one of those.
I feel for you and pray that things will get better. You're in our thoughts. |
