Just wanted to let everyone know . . .

This Wednesday, January 10th, ABC Primetime - Medical Mysteries will be airing a story on Moyamoya.  It's scheduled for the 10:00 pm hour, but you might want to check your local listing to confirm the time.

The crew that came to Stanford for the filming was terrific - professional and VERY interested in learning all they could about Moyamoya.  They followed one of our recent surgery patients from start to finish.  I haven't seen the show yet, but hopefully it's good!

This is absolutely GREAT news!!!!  I cannot wait to see it.  When I get home (in Richmond now), I will make sure to look it up so I can TIVO it also.  I will definitely stay up to watch this.

that's awesome. i don't think i have cable, though. We'll see if that's offered on a non-cable channel.  I think they should put moyamoya on one of those shows such as Grey's Anatomy, House MD, or Scrubs or whatever. They always choose the most exotic diseases.  MM is pretty weird and it would be another way to get it out there...

Can you help me I am trying to find out when this is going to be aired in WI and for the life of me I can't find it.  I have checked ABC Prime time and they have other topics on Medical Mysteries.  
Is any one else having this problem? Please help.

yes thanks jill for the heads up....the story came out in our paper yesterday in hawaii because the husband is from hawaii and is now living here.  cool now more people would be aware and know the signs and symptoms.

I've checked with the media relations person here at Stanford, and the show is still "on" for Wednesday, 1/10, at 10:00 pm.  Our segment is the "you be the doctor" one, so there's nothing that mentions moyamoya at this point.  Anyway, here's the link to view the promo:

The "you be the doctor" segment goes on throughout the show - at different intervals they tell you about a person, what they experienced and then they give you 3 choices.  Later in the show, they tell you more and give you another 3 choices...I believe the last part of the show (I normally fall asleep before then, lol!) is the reveal...they tell you what that person actually has been diagnosed with.  I set my DVR to record it if I fall asleep!
