Our daughter had her third major stroke on the drive to boston for a year post-op angiogram. They doubled the asparin also and found that the blood vessels from the side have grown well, but nothing "sprouted" to the back. To make a long story short they then performed a surgery to the back of the brain. That was about a year ago and she is doing well. At the time Dr. Scott said she is only the third patient to have this surgery.  I am saddened to hear others having this "setback" we just had an MRI about 2 months ago and the vessels in the back did good.  Dr. Scott did mention on some patients they could do a 4th surgery to the other side back of the brain, but it was not worth the risk for us because the stroke damaged so much of the back on the right side.  I understand what you are going through and it is very scary and lonely. The surgery went extremely well and she recovered fast. Dr. Scott will make it a priority to find out. You are in good hands. Please call or email me and I can discuss in further detail if you would like.

Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I hope your baby is ok. I am glad to hear she did alright. We are waiting to hear from dr. Scott now our er took its time getting him molly's MRA!! Did your daughter have any vision problems? I have another post on here about surgery in the back of the brain. I am so glad to hear that the surgery can be done safely and your daughter is living proof of that!! Thank god for Dr. Scott and his expertise!! were not even sure if molly needs the surgery but i wanted to be educated on the decision to have it done or not. Do you reccomend having the surgery?  Did it benifit your daughter? Were there any warning signs something was wrong? Like extreme tiredness, vision problems, TIAs or any thing else you can think of?
Thanks again Molly's mom
