My daugher had her angio last Wednesday 7/11/07. This was her 12 month post EDAS. The neurosurgeon now says she was misdiagnosed last year. I'm about to lose my mind. Last year her left carotid artery was constricted over 90% in three areas and it looked like Moyamoya (puff of smoke) on angio. Now it still looks like a puff of smoke but her left artery has completely opened up to 100%??? It sounds like a miracle but now the surgeon says here is the bad news. She has a new pouch that has formed on her left artery that wasn't there before. He says in time it can turn into a brain anyerism... But he says he only wants to do testing once a year to see if it's getting any worse any more pouches forming. Dr. Bernard wasn't the one who did her EDAS last year he is just our local doctor. What I'm wondering is could she have too much blood flow because of the revascularization done which is causing this dangerous pouch on her artery? Has anyone else ever heard of this happening?

You must send your angio films out for external opinions from the experts! Your doctor can also send his report along with them. This sounds way over any of our Lay-persons heads...and should be dealt with by the absolute professionals in the field. I am frustrated for you and feel your anxiety. I can only imagine what you are going through.
