HI everyone:

I have to eat my words!!!!   The second side.....not so good.  Couple of bads nights....lost my speech...couldn't swallow!  The good news...I lost the Flory on Tuesday night!!!!


I am still here, but being released today and back Tuesday for Staple removal.  They thought I might need a third surgery, but all came out well.  The night of the second surgery I had a CT and and MRI (4 of 5 for the week).  I am over the tube of       - lol!

Everyone has super nice! And they have really good care of me.   Hope everyone is doing well!

Congrats Sandi!!  It will only get better after your second surgery.  You are in fantastic God guided hands. Keep your faith.  You've been blessed.

Glad to hear you had your staples removed and are most likely home now.

Give yourself some time and take it one day at a time.

Remarkable for having two brain surgeries!

Keep your sense of humor and the faith and things will improve.

Bad hair day?  At least you have an excuse! lol!

Hi guys and gals.....
Today I got my remaining staples out and there was a lot of bleeding, but my doctors said it was old blood and it needed to come out and the swelling went down almost immediately.

I have improved on my speech and it continues to get better.  I am driving and feeling fine.  I had a BBQ on Saturday to celebrate my coming home, kicking Moya Moya in the ass and my divorce which was final on Friday.  It has been a busy year!!!

As I said last week, the second surgery was very difficult emotionally.  I think because I couldn't speak. I was very anxious and couldn't settle down.  I think I have ADD!!!! There was some very difficult times, but once I got home I was fine.  The unconditional love of a dog and two cats...and Mom , and all of my friends.

I appreciate all of the support through out this time.  I want to thank a bunch people:  

Jill and Tara - they don't know how much they helped me through this.  They encouraged me through the rough times.

Joli - her daily visits helped reassure me that everything would be okay!

Joann - She is a love!  Her warm smile make me look forward to her daily visit, even when I felt crap!!!

Linda and Jack - thank you for visiting me and sharing with me your experience.

The doctors and nurses - wonderful bedside manner, although I thought they were getting sick of me!  I was actually there for 12 days with out a break ;-)

Fenti and Fanti - Fanti had surgery the same days as I  and her sister came to visit me often.  It was nice to support each other.  I hope she is doing okay.  Fenti -write me!!!!

Kim - thanks for writing me and all the helpful information you have provided.

Everyone.....I feel blessed that I have this disease, cause everyone has been so nice and I learned a lot and I hope I can help future patients later.  I have learned patience, increase faith and increased appreciation of friends and caregivers and family.

We are glad that you went home.  I am pretty sure how much meant to be stay your house without all the needles are poking your wrist.  Alice (5 yrs) she is waiting 2nd surgery and we are leaving Los Angeles tomorrow to San Jose.  First, we will meet Dr. Jasmin Kamar at Palo Alto who is going to make a referral to Dr. Steinberg.  We just came back from Korea.  I hope Alice is catching up with time difference.  I will try to meet Jill and Tera and the staff memeber if they let me.  Just cross my finger.  We are praying God for all the schedule and precedures.

Home Sweet Home!

Glad to hear things are improving for you.  Your speech will improve.  I know because Kevin's did and now you wouldn't know he even had a speech problem. Can't really explain it all but it is remarkable.

I can see you still have your great sense of humor. Someone needs to kick moyamoya in the ass. Thanks for taking on the challenge! lol!

Are you trying to set a world record....two brain surgeries, divorce and kicking moyamoya in the ass all at once? lol! What a woman!!!

Glad to hear this has been lessons learned.  It's all part of the journey.  You will be able to help moyamoya patients through your own experience. What a wonderful gift and contribution to mankind.
