I haven't heard that we should avoid anything...I'm assuming this question is coming up because it's flu shot season. I would, in my opinion, get a flu shot for your daughter. In my experience, I start having TIA's when I have a fever....any defense against that is worth it in my opinion.
I only deal with flu shots in terms of immunizations....so I would definitely consult her neuro if you are not sure of a specific immunization. -Shari |

We do the flu shot every year for Kathleen(she's 10).One of the high risk groups that should get the flu shot is anyone under the age of 17 who is on asprin therapy. We aslo had to get a chicken pox booster because she wasn't immune to them,we checked with Dr. Scott and it was his reccomendation. We were torn because it IS a live virus(the flu shot is NOT a live virus so you can't get it from the shot, the nasal mist IS a live virus) and she could get the chicken pox from the vaccine, but not nearly as bad as if she didn't get the shot. These are the only vaccinations we've had to deal with since her diagnosis of MM.

Emily's doctor recommend everyone in our family get the flu shot due to her being a high risk. That reminds me I need to get her in for her shot.

Our whole family gets it too.We get ours next Tuesday. If there's a shortage then Kathleen gets the shot but the rest of us get the nasal spray.

No I am not talking about the flu shot. She gets those every year. I am talking about booster shots. Now there are so many more from when she was Dx'd.
She is due for her boosers and I am just wondering Michelle |

We've had Daphne's shots on hold for quite awhile (for a lot of reasons, personal and medical). I've read a lot about vaccines, and the only recommendation I've seen consistently (although a lot of doctors would disagree) is that in someone with a history of seizures the DTP shot may be contraindicative.
