Title: Hi from pasnblu in Orange Co - 3+ mo post surgery Post by pasnblu on Nov 12th, 2007 at 1:14am
Hi everyone: Haven't been on for a while, mostly due to the fact I am back at work and work hadn't changed a bit since I left there. :P
I had my surgery in July (17th-right, 24th-left). Since that time, I have fully recovered as far as I can tell. No incidences. I had sporadic speech for about 2+ weeks after I was released to come home. It was a great conversation starter (pardon the pun) at parties. Lets play "Who can finish Sandi's sentences?", but it didn't get me out of a speeding ticket, neither did the fresh scar, the black eye or the blood spot in my eyeball. I will be heading up to Stanford in January for my 6 mo follow up and look forward to seeing the great staff that took care of me. Fenti and Fanti - hope you are both doing well. Drop me a line and let me know ;-) Linda and Jack - hope you are doing well too! ;;D Tara - your Mom says you are doing well at school - like there was any doubt ;) To those who are new to this site...Welcome! This is a great place for information and connecting with people who have been through the diagnosis and treatment process. If I can answer any questions, feel free to ask. I wish everyone a healthy and happy Thanksgiving and holiday season. I know I have a lot to be thankful for. I will be running a 10k on Thanksgiving morning, and will find my motivation from moya moya and all it meant to me and taught me about myself this year. Take care everyone. Cheers Sandi pasnblu@hotmail.com |

Hi Sandi,
I am very glad that you are doing well. Good on ya for doing the 10K. I ran a 5K in July even though my family didn't think I could. Lots of luck! Newt(Natalie) |

Welcome back Sandi!
Sounds like you are doing extremely well. A 10K?! Good for you! I will be cheering you on! What an inspiration you are to all MMers. [smiley=thumbsup.gif] Sorry to hear the cop didn't give you a break. I can't believe he/she didn't show you any sympathy and especially with a black eye, blood spot in the eye and fresh scars. lol! Happy Thanksgiving! Hugs, Lore |

Sandi~
Glad your 'up and running'! Speeding even!!!!! Jack and I have been back and forth from Eureka area to Palo Alto to see my mom -- who is not remembering things too well. So haven't been on this board for ages, or had time to check in with Jill and/or visit whoever is at Stanford. you'll be able to visit folks now and pass on your experiences!!!! we may be in Palo Alto while you're having your 6 month check up. we could celebrate life post surgery together. Where ever we are, we'll be cheering for you!!!!! Hope your mom is well. Keep on Running! Love, Linda (LA) and Jack B. |

Hi guys and gals:
Well I ran the 10k, but had to stop 4 times to walk. I finished in an hour and 12 minutes which is 10 minutes slower than my best time, so I was a bit disappointed, but it just gives me something to strive for next time. Looking forward to getting to Stanford in January. Hope everyone has a great holiday season! I will be in Florida visiting mom and my 93 year old Grandma. Haven't seen her since my tia, diagnosis and surgery, so we are both looking forward to our visit. Take care Sandi |
