Title: fumes and MM symptoms
Post by ladybugz on May 1st, 2008 at 4:36am
Does anyone ever have trouble when encountering fumes or strong scents? Or do I have allergies to all things?  Maybe I am having anxiety and losing oxygen, but it's possibly daily exposure to gas leaks.  MM symptoms get worse because it seems as if no oxygen is getting to my brain.
Anyone get headaches to strong smells and send their symptoms crazy?

Hello.  I also get tremendous headaches when I get around ammonia cleaners and household paints.  I am currently on oxygen and it seems everything smells stronger now.  I have had headaches and a few vision problems in the past.  Good luck!  MMnewtUt/Natalie
PS. I would double check your home for Carbonmonoxide if you think you're exposed to gas leaks.

I use to work with some smelly chemicals. I had to wear a mask after my stroke. I am now in another area with out smelly chemicals. I can't even clean our house sometimes. I have to open all the windows and set up fans to clear the air. But i was always sentive to some house hold cleaners.
I would ask your nurologest to see if your smell center in your brain was effected. Also have your home checked for carbonmonoxide. best to be on the safe side then the sorry one.
Good luck,
Becky

hey all:

What a timely topic...for the last three days I have been smelling gas.  Of course, I am not talking my own ;-), but it started in my office building on Thursday.  No one else seemed to smell it.  Then I smelled it in my office, then that night in bed I could swear I smelled gas.  I checked my stove top for the obvious and everything was fine.  Back at my office the next day, I smelled it again and then in my house again.  I looked up on web md and there was information about how seizures in certain areas of the brain could cause hallucinations (taste and odor).  Of course I am going to check it out with Stanford on Monday, but to read this message was like OMG!!!  I will let you know what I find.

Thanks
Sandi
