kansas is paying for wyrik to go to stanford in Sept. his surgery is sept 16th and he will be covered. we only need to pay for my husbands flight. but it isn't a bad thing. we are very happy about this.

Congratulations! You will be on the same day as Thomas, who is from Seattle. (mroum@comcast.net) He and I connected through this website and we have been helping him understand what happens, since we just got done with my daughter's surgeries last week.

It is completely worth it to be at Stanford!

Hi Alisha,

I'm excited for you! Wonderful news!

I know you must feel a sense of releif now that you know everything has been set in motion and Wyrik's surgery is scheduled.

Dr. Steinberg and the entire Stanford Moyamoya team are superior and Wyrik will be in excellent hands. They will take good care of Wyrik.

Ditto to Laura's post. I couldn't agree more that it is completely worth it to be at Stanford.

Keep us posted and ask any questions. We are here to support you, Wyrik and Thomas.

I am so happy that things worked out with your insurance company! Sometimes I wonder..what if something like this affected the CEO's of the insurance companies--or our government officials? Would policies be changed then? (Then again, they would probably have the $ to take care of the costs...huh? [smiley=huh.gif])

Anyway, I'm pleased to hear the good news! Great job for staying on top of them and being proactive in Wyrik's care! ;)
