Hi,

You may qualify to get your meds paid through the pharmacuetical company.  Ask your doctor.

It's important to get your tooth fixed.  There is a direct connection to dental care and overall health. You may be able to get your tooth fixed for a minimal fee at U of M if they have a dental clinic staffed by students.  Ask your doctor.

Please take care of yourself and let us know how you are doing.

Hugs,

Lore

Ask your Dr. if there is something cheaper you can get on.  My primary care Dr. knows I don't have coverage and tried very hard to get me samples of antibiotisc, inhalers, etc.  I too am on blood pressure medication and I only pay $4 per month.  Many pharmacies have followed the $4 Walmart plan and offer the same price.  I sympathize with your situation, I can't afford my aggrenox!  Waiting for that to be added to the "cheap" list.   :)
Fortunately my BP has only been that high (actually higher!) when I have been in my neurologists office!
My PCP said he couldn't believe he didn't give me something on the spot!
I did have a question about blood pressure, I thought I saw on Stanfords website something about consulting with them before getting on any BP medication as a higher BP was beneficial for those with MM.  Anyone know anything about this, or is it my brain again.. [smiley=laugh.gif]

Here is the "list" for heart and blood pressure medication...hope you and your Dr. can find something that works, AND you can afford!! I am on ENALAPRIL which is fortunately on the list, I don't know which ones are specific to blood pressure, but there has to be something on here that would help!

Michele,

You are right!  Dr. Steinberg does want your blood pressure to run a little higher in order to help your blood run easier through the brain after surgeries.  I was just there for my 3 year follow-ups and I have been on atenolol for about 5 years now.  I used to be on 50 mg. twice a day and then reduced to 25 mg twice a day.  While I was out there for my follow-ups he has now decided to reduce the dosage.  Because I am still having TIA's, I need to reduce the dosage as my blood pressure has been running low.  Below 120/80.  He wants to see if reducing my bp meds will help make it run a little higher.  I'm on the atenlol for a high heart rate though so he doesn't want to completely take me off it.  However, apparently, atenelol is also a bp med.  Hopefully, this will help.
