I am waiting for surgery meanwhile I have horrible headaches, that I am taking percocet for that is not helping. I am now vomiting everyday. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to take? Also, has anyone from Missouri had the surgery in California that has missouri medicaid? I guess I'm waiting for California and medicaid to make a contract. Meanwhile I am very sick and have 100% blockage on both sides. Please someone help me!!

Sorry to hear about your condition.  When is your surgery scheduled for?  You mentioned 100% blockage on both sides!  :o  That being said, I hope that your medical team has made priority arrangements for you to have surgery asap.  I too had to have an emergency surgery and on the day I was finally properly diagnosed with MM, I was on actually on a plane within hours to Wake Medical Center in North Carolina! To tell you truthfully, I didn't even think about the costs that would be incurred from my surgery.  I may have advised them that I had Blue Cross Blue Shield (PPO), and that may have been enough for them to go ahead and schedule my emergency surgery...I am not exactly sure.  I know from many of the threads on this site that insurance can play a big role on the type of care one is able to receive, which I feel is truly unfortunate.  :-[  I hope that our government can seriously address this issue...especially in cases such as yours.

I would imagine that with the blockage you have, you could also be at risk for more serious side effects other than the headaches.  The first thing that came to my mind was that the Percocet could possibly be causing problems to your gastointestinal system, which could in turn, pose/create problems in that area.  I would caution you to be careful--especially because you do not want to create an ulcer or rupture a vessel while you're throwing up.  :-[  Have you shared this info with your doctor?

You mentioned California, so I am assuming that you are planning to go to Stanford?  I am not sure, but maybe someone else here  can let you know how/if they have payment plans, etc., or a way to get you in sooner due to your situation.  To me, I would think the best way would be for your local doctor to speak directly to your surgical team. Together, they can formulate a plan for your care.  Would having 100% blockage on both sides" prevent you from traveling?  [smiley=huh.gif]
