I just got approved thru Missouri Medicaid to have my surgery in California. I am so happy. I'm not nervous or scared, probably because I know Dr. Steinburg is the best and he definitely knows what he is going. Just in case there is someone out there that is wondering if medicaid pay for this surgery, yes they do. You have to start with your own neorologist. Your neorologist has to write a letter expressing the urgency of the surgery and after medicaid gets that they will then approve it. They will then contact the place your going to have the surgery and set up a contract with the hospital.If you have any questions I would be happy to answer them if I can.I'll let everyone know how my surgery goes.Please pray for me and I'm praying for all of you!!

That is wonderful news!!  Yes, you are right, Dr. Steinberg is the BEST!!!!  You will be in the best hands possible for this disease!!

So good to hear the great news!  Yes! From the testimonies of others on this site, Dr. Steinberg is amongst the best of MM experts that are out there--you are in good hands!  ;)  

You being proactive and assertive in getting through the insurance mess is a testimony of your faith!  Hopefully others who may get discouraged will be inspired by your situation and continue to persevere.  I know it may not be easy...  I personally don't understand why it is so difficult for one to receive the medical attention they need...  :-/  

Anyway, it is such wonderful news that you are scheduled for surgery!  Yes, please keep in touch and let us know how you're doing!  You will remain in our prayers!

wyrik had kansas medicaid for his surgery he is 3 and they paid for everything including food, lodging and transportation. he also had his surgery at stanford by dr steinberg. he is doing great and was out in 3 days.

That is truly wonderful news!!!!  I could only wish to have someone as renowned as Dr. Steinburg working on me.

OK when I said I was approved, that meant medicaid approved me, but I found that there is still a negociation process. Medicaid has to offer California an amount and then California has to accept that amount. Medicaid has just called me and let me know California has accepted the amount and for me to call Bob and set up an appointment to have surgery. I am so excited!!!! Medicaid also said that they would pay for my airfair to California. Nobody understands how I feel right now, well I guess everyone on this site does. Please keep praying for me and I will always pray for each one of you on this site!
