It's not unusual for fatigue to be a factor in recovery. From your previous posts, it looks like you have alot on your plate, and I wonder if you're not getting the rest you need to finish yours.
There could be other factors, too. First, you should always keep in touch with your doctor anytime you have a question such as this. There may be something that he can identify to suggest/help your personal situation. Ruling out physical causes for your tiredness, I've always felt that there isn't enough credit given to the emotional toll that surgery takes on people. While you have every reason to celebrate the step you've taken (treatment), it's still a difficult one. I've seen people experience grief, anger, sadness, "why me?", etc. in addition to the obvious joy of knowing that surgery is over. It may be worth thinking about the possibility of some depression going on. I'm not a doctor or nurse, and I certainly don't know your specific case. I've seen enough people go through some of what I listed above though, so thought I'd mention it. Be patient with yourself and give yourself the time to recover. Sometimes it takes longer than you would like it to! Also, keep in touch with the professionals who provided your care. Wishing the best for you, Jill |

My son, Robert is tired all the time. Robert had his operations in 0ctober of 2006. Robert takes CO Q 10 for headaches. The doctor said it should give him energy too, but doesn't. Next week his going to be testd for sleep apena.

My daughte is 11 yrs old. She's 6 yrs post surgery. She tires very easily still. It's a bit better but still a big issue for her.She tires from physical activity and from the academic demands she has durring the day.The mental work seems to be harder for her to recover from than the physical work. She really needs 10-11 hours of sleep at night to really have the best day.She still has good days and not so good days. Some days she seems more "irritated" than others.

It had been 4 year since my surgey and I still get tiered too. I can't stay up late. I am going to school to be an electrical engineer and there are days that i just go to bed after class and a 8 hour shift. I work 40 hours a week and go to school part time. My husband and I made up a code word that i say when i get tiered and need to go home now if we are out and about. After i say that word he knows I need to get home before i cash. I try to keep one weekend night for early in. i also take naps if needed before dinner when I get home from work.
Your are not the only one. Good luck in your sleep test. Becky |
