Title: Update on Amy-long over due Post by Christie on Dec 16th, 2008 at 7:05pm
Just to let you all know. Amy and I returned from Ca. last friday by air ambulance. She was directly admitted into a rehab facility in Mo. She is doing well here. They are using some kind of stimulator on her left hand and today she can already make a weak fist. Her concentration isn't very good yet but her memory is getting really good. We are so blessed> I can't even express in words how I feel right now. I will be taking Amy and her children home with me to IL after rehab until she recovers enough to take care of her children and herself. The bypass grafts are doing really good and her incisions look great. I will pray for each of you, because I do know what it is like to go through this. We were at Stanford for almost 7 weeks! What a wonderful Dr Steinburg and staff. We love them very much. Also found out that Teresa and my sisters boyfriends wife are related and Amy had her pic taken with Ms MO. in the mid 80's which is Teresa's neice. Small world isn't it!!!! God Bless you all!,,,,,,,Amys mom

Hi Christie,
I'm glad to know you and Amy made it home to rehab. This has been a long and trying journey for you both. There's no place like home! I'm so relieved to hear Amy is making good progress. Sounds like the rehab program is beneficial to Amy. It takes time and patience but in the end, the payoff is worth it. Bless you for all you have done for Amy and will be doing by taking Amy and her children home with you. You are an angel. Dr. Steinberg, Teresa, and the entire Stanford staff were very kind and caring to me and my brother. They are a super group of people and we are forever indebted to them for all they did for my brother. I know this isn't easy, but hang in there and keep us posted on Amy. You and Amy continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs, Lore |
