I know everyone here is well aware of how important Awareness is.Well I am not only passionate about spreading the word about moyamoya but the fact that children DO have strokes.We all know here how uninformed even the medical community is on this subject and slow to diagnose a stroke in a baby or child.My daughter suffered several storkes her last one left her like an infant.She's struggles everyday to do so many things that most people take for granted.I believe that she will become independant one day because she's a fighter and determined to do it all herself.She's my HERO!!! So what I'm asking for is that you follow this link and read....and hopefully you will feel compelled to sign this petition.It's a petition for a Childhood Stroke Awareness Day.Please take a couple of minutes for Kathleen and all our children here who have suffered a stroke.....The great part is that there is a section for comments and you can mention Moyamoya as a possible reason for strokes in children I've already left my message and signed.Thanks in advance from Kathleen and all our children here!

I just signed petition.  Anything to get the word out.  It won't stop the disease, but hopefully more people will recognize the signs and be diagnosed and treated properly in the future.

Just an update,we are very close to 400 signatures! Thank you all so much.It was wonderful to see moyamoya in the comments.I actually had a couple of people on pediatric e-mail group ask about MM after they read the responses, so it's working as an awareness for MM also.If you havne't yet checked it out it only takes a couple of minutes.Thanks....

I hope you don't mind me bumping this up again.It's really great to see moyamoya mentioned on this petition,it brings awareness to the fact that chidlren do indeed have strokes and tha moyamoya could be a cause.
