Is there anyone who has had only the indirect surgery?? (EMS) Or no of anyone who has only had it done without the direct surgery too?

My daughter only had the indirect. Her blood vessels were too small for the direct. she 14 when she had hers done last December.

Hello, My 2 year old daughter also had just the indirect bypass on both sides. I remember hearing that they usually do the indirect on baby's and children because there brains are still growing and the new vessels form like a vine. I don't know if that is always the case. It has been a year and a half since surgery and her blood flow is good. Danielle

I had EMS surgery in 2004 on the right side at the University of Iowa Hospitals. I have had only one TIA since then. When I need to have more surgery I will go back to them.
