Darci,

My understanding is that it can take several months for your scalp to completley heal.  I had my surgeries the begining of April.  I do not have much pain any longer, it just itches now.  But I did have pain for quite awhile.  I also still have a couple of small scabbed areas.   I have found that when the scabs started fo fall off the pain decreased.  My head is tender to touch, but the incisions do not hurt much any more.  I can actually wash and blow dry my hair without pain now.

We all heal at different rates so hang in there.  Your ability to heal is influenced by age, nutrition, overall health, if you are diabetic, blood flow to the scalp etc....  Vitamin E and D have some healing properties to them for skin, as well as calcium and zinc.  You could check with your doctor to see if it would be ok for you to take any of these suppliments.  I can tell you to stay out of the sun, or wear a hat when you are in the sun for prolonged periods of time.  I was in the sun and alsmost burnt my scalp, that was painful.

I hope this helps.

Take Care

Tracie

I was in pain for about 2 months then the pain slowly went down over the ramaining of the year. I can feel the barrametic pressure rising and falling at times. My scar can be a bit ichy but that only happen when I am out in the sun for along time with out my hat. It was realy ichy last week when i mowed my lawn without my hat and got sunburned. I will never do that agian. Everyone is differnt in thier healing process. get plenty of rest and keep your head covered if you go out in the sun.
