My Abby is in surgery for her Arteriogram right now. Procedure started around 9:30am EST with Dr. Orbach as the surgeon. We hope to have a status update soon.  This is so hard to just sit; more so than any of her other procedures. Maybe it is because we are so far from home. Her pial synangiosis on Friday will be very hard. I will keep u posted.  Please pray for my baby girl.

Wow, I know the waiting is so hard. I couldn't even concentrate on a book or t.v. I found comfort in ripping pieces of paper into tiny bits. I know that sounds weird but it helped me. It will be over soon. I will pray for good news and good health. Lots of luck. Mike & Danielle

By now Abby should be out of surgery and resting, maybe even sleeping.  
I can only imagine what the waiting is like.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Abby, and the rest of your family.  Hang in there and let us know if there is anything else we can do.

I'll be thinking and praying for Abby the whole day. You are in the best hands, radilogists and anesthesiologists at Children's are very used to work with MM kids. I remember that Paula has a TIA just before the arteriogram, I was so worried ..... but the anesthesiologist came and gave me encourage saying that they have a lot of experience ..... I understand how you are feeling, I was also too far from my home (thousand of km).

Sorry for the delayed update. We are finally back at our accomodations and all family has been updated. The angi went off without any problems at all. Alas, we have now been told she does indeed have very advanced moyamoya on both sides of her brain. The silver lining is that both sides have found new ways to get blood to the affected areas. Dr. Scott had the nurses tell us that the surgery is on for
this Friday.

Thank you for all of your kind words and prayers. I will update when we get more information or after surgery.

Hey Demian

One day at a time during this difficult period; being far from home has it's own set of challenges but when your little girl is on that table your mind is in one place only. For eight hours I paced a 20 meter piece of corridor in front of the surgery doors. The last thing I wanted was a book or anything else that would break my concentration and focus.

I'll be thinking of you guys, especially Little Abby. You are doing the right thing and before you know it this period in your life will be a memory.
