I am so sorry I haven't updated as her Pial Synagiosis of both the left and right sides was on Friday 7/24.  The longest 9 hours of my life...BUT....SHE IS WONDERFUL.  Dr. Scott did one side and Dr. Smith did the other.  The liason Doris gave us updates promptly every 1.5 hours and was just sweet as honey.

After Surgery she spent less than 24 hours in the wonderful ICU with great nurses like Deb, Robin, and Allison and then we were shipped to room where she is currently recovering and recovering VERY well.

I want to thank all of you who posted your experiences on this site.  I have to admit that I was skeptical that my daughter would fare as well as some other children on this site, but boy has she ever.  Like I said, she had both sides done at once, then she was in ICU for just less than 24 hours where she had a little pain managed with just a tiny dose of morphine and then tylenol, and since then the last 2 days she has had little to no pain and as of this morning (2nd day) she is chipper and happy and smiling and walking and talking and coloring and watching TV and eating and drinking and, and, and.......AND thank you DJ and everyone else on the site.

I am sorry if I am rambling and my writing is poor.  I have had very little sleep the last few days.

I know there are people in the same place I am in or where I was about 1.5 months ago when I first learned of this think called moyamoya.  Let me be clear.

I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU GO TO SEE DR. Scott AND Dr. Smith.  They are wonderful people and will get the job done.  The staff is also so wonderful.

I am putting together a small blog with photos and what-not of my time here in Boston.  I hope to have it in a releaseable state soon.  It is not meant to do anything that this moyamoya.com site is doing.  More it is to fill in some blanks that are hard to know to ask questions about before you go to Boston.  I will keep everyone posted.

That is incredible news.  I never heard of them doing both sides at the same time!!!  I am so happy for Abby and for your family.  :)  Thank you sooo much for updating us even when you're soooo tired.  :)

Smith ...my hopes are way up there now...Demian thank you for updating from the bottom of my heart...Praying for Abby's speedy recovery and healthy life from now on ...lots of hugs...

What wonderful news!  I am so glad Abby (and your family) came through with such ease.  I do say all because it is stressful for everyone.  It sounds like she did beautifully...so glad she had so little discomfort.

Thank you all so so much.  We are amazed.  We were released from the hospital TODAY!  Can you believe it?  Surgery on Friday, released from the hospital on Monday.  Thank you again for all of your support.  I will continue to keep you posted on her recovery.  We now have 10 days left in Boston with nothing to do but have some fun.  Well, Dr. Scott is having us come back in on the 6th for a follow-up so a little work left to do, but other than that we are FREE!

Abby's energy levels will dictate what we do, but we plan on doing all of the historic stuff.  Abby would love to go to a Sox game, but that would probably be a bit too rowdy for her at this point.

Aneta, I will send you a private message about possibly stopping by to see you and your daughter on Thursday.  She will do great!
