Title: an update on Courtney
Post by pamR on Sep 6th, 2009 at 11:17pm
Thanks so much for all the wishes for Courtney. She is doing pretty well. On tuesday she had her first noticeable tia, her chin went numb and her speech was difficult to understand. It was exactly 1 week after her surgery. It only lasted 30 minutes, and once we arrived at the ER she was almost back to normal. Since she was diagnosed only having headaches, it was quite a scare, but as we learned, not unexpected.
Thanks again for all the support! It means so much coming from those who have been through this!
Pam

Pam,
I am glad to hear the surgery went well. That was a smart thing bringing her to the hospital but you should also let your neurologest or surgen know if you haven't told them already about the incident. They may want to do an angio or MRI to check if the surgery is working as it should or as well as they thaught. Not to worry you, but a just incase.
Thanks for the update
Becky

Thanks, I did call the doctor as soon as I realised what was happening. She told us to call 911. Courtney actually went to school today.Yeah! She seems to be feeling better every day. The nurse at school is up on the situation, which is great. Thanks again for the suggestion!

Pam,

Glad to hear that your daughter is OK.  My daughter has had several TIAs (she's still pre-surgery) which were all misdiagnosed in the ER as seizures, and they can be very scary.  Glad you took her to the ER.
