Title: Recurring Symptoms after several years
Post by ladybugz on Sep 20th, 2009 at 8:52pm
Hello, I haven't been here for awhile.
I was curious to know what can cause recurring symptoms after so long.  I was fine and on medication for headaches for 3 years. About the 3rd year I got much better.

Then, I went off medication (because I moved out of my home country) and was fine for the first month. Now my symptoms come back. Also, I went on some fun rides a month ago, but I don't know why that would not cause the symptoms so heavily until now.
Everyday, I have trouble seeing, and functioning. People think I'm tired. I know I get normal or more sleep. My head hurts, but I know it must be lack of oxygen rather than headaches or being tired. Something keeps happening and it causes the partial feeling loss on one side again.

Any idea if roller coasters (probably dumb) or buses cause symptoms?  I don't know if I can go to the doctor out of the country and i'm in the middle of work. I'm in dire need of some way to fix these headaches or symptoms. I take over the counter pills to the max now. Nothing works.

Thanks. :o

ROLLER COSTERS CAUSED my headachs that lead to my Stroke and then the discovery of my MM, which is WHY I am ON THIS Sight!!!

sorry for the shouting but roller costers bouce your brain around your skull giving the light headed feeling. Symilarily to how your insides feel when riding them. I was told to stay away from rollor costers but some others have not been told to stay away, but there is a warning on alot of the rides saying can cause strokes and heart condintions to become worse. I recomend not to ride.

As for the migraines I would talk to your neurologest. You may have agervated the migranes and if it doesn't get better then more sreious issues can come up.

I don't want to scare people off from rollor costers but i will never go on one agian. It has been very hard on me to give them up, but my health is more inportant then that kind of fun.

According to Dr. Steinberg at Stanford High speed roller coasters, ski diving and scuba diving are an ablsolute NO NO after bypass surgery.  It is because of the G forces and changes in the pressure in the head.  That is the best way I know how to explain it.

I would definitly recommend staying away from all roller coaster.  I loved them and road them for years but had to give them up a few years ago becasue they started making me feel sick.  I did not know I had moyamoya at the time.  I also used to scuba dive, but can't do that amy longer either.

You should definitly check with your neurologist or neurosurgeon to be sure that everything is OK.

My drs. at UVA told me I could ride rides at amusement parks but then later I read on here not to.  However, just last week I rode the "Swings" at the county fair.  When I got off the ride I couldn't walk straight.  I literally could not put one foot in front of the other and almost fainted.  I haven't felt well since.  Now I know I will never ride another ride!!
