Hi everyone,

I just get off the phone with Tammy's friend in Washington. Tammy is still unconscious. The angiogram today showed her double by pass is not working. At this point, doctors did not tell family what will they do next.

She needs our prayers. I know she will pulling this throught. She has too, because we will meet in Aug, 2010.
I love you Tammy.

My prayers are with you Tammy, a lot of people is pending on your recovery. Altough the By pass doesn't work, it's possible that new collaterals will grow through the craniotomies?

Does anyone have the caringbridge sight for Tammy? I was unaware her family was doing a caring bridge sight for her, that's great! I searched her name, but didn't find the sight.  Did she wake up yet?  :'(

Tammy is awake.  Today the focus is to try to get her to take food by mouth.  Her left eye is very swollen, but they say that that is normal.  They are discussing going back in for surgery on Thursday to remove the constrictor that was placed on her carotid artery.  She is not allowed visitors at this time and we'll keep you updated with any changes. 

According to the caringbridge site, she will have surgery again on Thursday

Thank you Michelle, I have a hard time to go into Caringbridge website. I will try again. I talked to Tammy's sister a while ago. Like you said, doctor will try to open up her carotid artery, and hope for the best. She is not sure that they will surgery tomorrow or Friday. She will give me a call after Tammy's surgery.
Tammy and her family are in my prayer.

I'm happy to hear Tammy is awake, she is still very much in my thoughts and I wish for her to go from strength to strength.

Tammy will have surgery again tomorrow hopefully in the am.  It could be later because this is a trauma hospital and those cases have to come first.  Tonight she is sitting up in bed.  she did not eat very well today but we will try again on Friday.  She is asking about all of her friends.

Hi, this is the latest update I got as of Oct 1, at 2:55PM that Tammy went into surgery around 8 am this morning.  The surgeon completed the surgery around 11am.  He said that they were able to accomplish what they went in to do.  This was to release the constrictor on the carotid artery and to strengthen the bone.  she is still in recovery at this time.  Beginning tomorrow she should be able to receive visitors for short periods of time.

I was able to visit with Tammy yesterday evening and gave her a big hug. She's doing well. Had smiles for all despite her pain and as always sending her love, support and encouragement to everyone else.
Just spoke to Tammy on the telephone. She was up and walking with a walker today and may be going home on Monday. Her voice sounded much stronger today. She had chocolate cake for lunch - chocolate is the BEST medicine!

I also talked to Tammy today also. She seemed to be in good spirits but very tired. She also told me about eating her chocolate cake. When I asked her about going home Monday she said that she may be going to someplace else first for rehabilitation for 30 days. She is one amazing woman. With everything she is going through she is worried about how I am doing. That is why I love her.

Any news on Tammy for today? There's no update on Caring Bridge for her since Saturday...anyone hear anything???

I have heard anything about Tammy today either. If she got out of the hospital she may have gone to where she was to have rehabilition. Just guessing.

I spoke with Tammy on the phone yesterday evening (Monday). She was expecting to be release from the hospital today. She's been up and about with a walker. She thought she'd be staying with her sister for awhile and should be getting outpatient physical therapy in Seattle. Her voice was much stronger today. She mentioned that the by-pass wasn't successful, yet. She's hopeful that given time the blood will begin to flow through the new arteries.

Tammy is doing great.  She is able to get up and walk around the halls in the hospital.  It is still very tiring for her,  but she will build endurance every day.  They are still trying to figure out if she needs to go to a rehab facility or if she can be released to family.  We should know by Thursday.  She is still having a little bit of trouble with her short term memory and repeats herself a lot.  She has been having some funny dreams/hallucinations that the Dr's. think may be related to the medicine that they are giving her,  they are going to try to slowly take her off of it and see if it helps.  She is in good spirits and ready to be released from the hospital.
