on oct 13th i had surgery at the univeristy of illinois in chicago (UIC).  The surgery took 10 hours. But I had a MRI the night of my surgery and a angiogram the next day and everything looks great!  I was very very pleased with the staff at UIC. THe nurses were excellent! They didnt rush me out of the hospital. I was there tues-sunday.  I did attle migranes with full syptoms like visulal disturbances and a sick stomach for the first 4 days.  Iam getting numbness once and a while in my hands and some facial. i hope that stops! has anyone had numbness after surgery. I only last a few minutes.

Great news that it's finally done, well done to all the staff involved at UIC.

Give it time, your body will adjust to the changes.

Good to hear your well. I had some hand control problems for a couple of weeks but it went away. I too had my EDAS at UIC performed by Dr. Fady Charbel. My experience was good also. Who was you surgeon?

i also have some numbness in my face and hand stroke side but i also had this before surgery i notice it a lot more if i dont drink enough or am really tired or stressed i go back to stanford for my 6mth checkup and hope they tell me all is well!!!!

Dr. Charbel was my surgeon too.  So far i have been happy with everything there... my testing, hosp stay...staff. Going through this is hard enough... although i did want To go to standford Im glad i was close to home!
