It's been a while since I posted. My daughter Annamarie, 18 now, had right side by-pass at Stanford in April of 2008 and has done well since then. A few months ago she started having garbled speech and writing problems. After a MRI/MRA and sending the disc to Stanford Dr Steinberg says its time to by-pass the left side. Annamarie also has Down Syndrome and Medicaid in Louisiana. We are waiting for the approval so we can return for her next surgery. The waiting is hard but I know we have lots of support.

Hi Margaret, We are in a similar boat. My daughter also had only the right side done in Dec. 2008. Her Angiograms have been good news since the surgery. We go for another in November and hope to get good news again. She still suffers from headaches but no signs of TIA's or strokes so far. Good luck with your insurance and getting it all approved.

Hey Margaret,

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and Annamarie. I'm hoping we will be in California when you guys are there so we can visit.

I hope you hear something very soon on the insurance decision. Hopefully they understand the the situation and don't take long to approve you.

I think about you guys everyday.
