Has anyone been told not to have nitrous oxide when they go to the dentist?

Yes........we were told not to with my daughter. She ended up having some significant dental work done under general anaesthesia at our Children's Hospital so everything could be closely monitored.....I know anaesthesia has it's own risks....but they wanted her in the hospital not a dental office so everything could be monitored in case of probs.

Certain types of anesthesia and probably Nitrous oxide are vaso-constrictors (restrict the blood vessels). You want to stay away from vaso-constrictors!
