Title: Statistics
Post by STrantas on Jan 11th, 2011 at 2:45pm
Anyone know the latest and greatest statistics for MM?  When I was diagnosed it was 1 in 2 million.  I've read now that it's 1 in 200,000.  Anyone read differently?

When I was diagnosed it was one in seven million. Not so special anymore.  ;D

I'm confused about the number. Where is it reported? Who determines it?

MMD is listed as a "rare" disease by the Office of Rare Diseases of the National Institutes of Health (US) - meaning, MMD affects less than 200,000 people in the US.
