Title: Free Family Portraits :)
Post by katieSD on Mar 11th, 2011 at 1:25am
I would like to let my moyamoya family know I have just been approved to be a photographer for The Maple Leaf Mission.  It is a non profit orginazation that offers free family portraits There mission is to provide free professional photography sessions to families. They focus on 3 different types of sessions.  Your Moment sessions to individuals or families dealing with a life changing or life limiting diagnosis (this is where I belive all of you fit in), individuals with a genetic condition etc... We offer a Final Moment session which focus’s on families or individuals who have received a terminal diagnosis. Our 3rd focus is for Military families that are dealing with a deployment
overseas or a homecoming reunion from a deployment.

I would like to encourage everyone (espcially families of young moyamoya survivers to apply for a Your Moment Session :)  Here is the website: http://www.themapleleafmission.com/p/faq.html
Also if you are on facebook they have a page: http://www.facebook.com/themapleleafmission

Let them know you were refered by Katie Lynne a member of your moyamoya family! <3  Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi Katie,

I've been  in touch with a very nice photographer who is going to do photographs of Destin in June.  I know it's free but I was wondering if I should tip the photographer after the session.  It's so generous of her to give her time to do this.

Thanks,
Donna

They have told me there have been a few moyamoya applications which is great!

Donna - I'm so glad you are taking advantage of this oppertunity for Destin! I'm sure she will have beautiful photos! I do not belive your photograher will be allowed to accept tips.  They have follow stirck non-profit rules and regulations. If it wasn't somthing they felt strongly about helping out they wouldn't be offering the photos.  I'm sure just a kind note or email telling her how much you apperciated the session and how much it ment to you will mean more to her than a tip :)

Thanks Katie,

I have also signed up my daughter Annamarie for photos.  I applied late Wed afternoon and heard from the photographer on Thursday morning.  We will meet sometime later this month.  Annamarie will graduate from high school next year so this will be great timing.   Thanks so much for the information

Margaret
