Title: Surgery Scheduled at Stanford
Post by shellanders on Mar 19th, 2011 at 4:18pm
Hi All,

We have a date for surgery, March 30th. It's all happening pretty fast. Got a call from Teresa at Dr. Steinberg's office on Monday(3/14) night and she said my husband needs surgery right away. I figured it would take weeks to set it up, but by Wednesday, they had him scheduled. When they say now, they mean right now.

We are leaving on Tuesday to fly out there - HUGE THANK YOU TO ANGELFLIGHT.ORG!!! He will have testing Wed-Fri(3/23-3/25), Mon & Tues(3/28-3/29), with surgery on Wednesday(3/30). Will be meeting Dr. Steinberg on Monday, can't wait. So many questions to ask. If all goes well, we should be back home on the 7th.

Still have some minor details to work out. Like how we are going to get from San Jose Airport to Stanford on Tuesday, but I have faith we will get it worked out. Don't like the last minute thing, but can't be helped. This disease is horrible on people who are control freaks! LOL!!!

We are both a little bit anxious, but looking forward to getting it done and over with.

Anyway, we will be staying in the HOME apartments there at Stanford. If anyone has any tips on transportation, things to pack or not to pack, places to avoid or places to go, or anything else, would love to hear them.

Michelle   :)

Hi,
Good luck to your husband and to yourself. You are in great hands with Dr. Stienberg and his amazing team. As far as your trip from San Jose to Palo Alto we rented a shuttle to Palo alto from the San Jose airport then rented a car in palo alto it was a huge savings. You just need to schedule something with a car service before you get there then call them when you land. Prayers are with you both ::)

I also stayed at the home apartments with my husband they are just a short walk from the hospital and if you dont want to walk you can call a shuttle
service at no charge and they will pick you up and drop you off makes it very nice!! Good luck i hope everything turns out great for your husband!!!
